Artist
Guru Guru is a German rock band formed in Heidelberg in 1968. Led by drummer and vocalist Mani Neumeier, the group plays improvisational psychedelic and experimental rock associated with krautrock. Its early catalogue includes the albums UFO, Hinten and Känguru, which introduced the song and stage character “Elektrolurch.” The band’s 1976 Rockpalast performance captured its extended improvisations and theatrical humour for television. The double album Live followed in 1978, documenting a concert repertoire that allowed the trio to reshape its studio material onstage. Guru Guru plays club rooms and outdoor festival stages in Germany. Its festival appearances include Finkenbach Festival and Burg Herzberg Festival.
