Guy Davis in Newport

Guy Davis is an American blues singer, guitarist, banjo player and actor from New York City, born in 1952. His music draws on acoustic country blues and folk storytelling; his recordings include Stomp Down Rider, Kokomo Kidd and Be Ready When I Call You. In 1993, Guy Davis portrayed bluesman Robert Johnson in the Off-Broadway production Robert Johnson: Trick the Devil. He later toured internationally as a singer, instrumentalist and storyteller, performing in clubs, theatres and at folk and blues festivals. He has also presented the Sonny & Brownie’s Last Train concert program with Italian harmonica player Fabrizio Poggi.
