Happy End in Dresden

Happy End was a Japanese folk-rock band formed in Tokyo in 1969 by Haruomi Hosono, Takashi Matsumoto, Eiichi Ohtaki and Shigeru Suzuki. The group placed Japanese lyrics within a rock framework on albums including Happy End and Kazemachi Roman, which contains their best-known song, “Kaze wo Atsumete.” The band initially performed behind folk singer Nobuyasu Okabayashi, then appeared under its own name at the 3rd All Japan Folk Jamboree in 1971. After disbanding, the four members returned for the farewell concert City: Last Time Around at Bunkyo Public Hall in 1973, and reunited again for the 1985 concert All Together Now.
