Harakiri for the Sky in Newcastle upon Tyne

Harakiri for the Sky is an Austrian post-black metal band formed in 2011 by vocalist J.J. and multi-instrumentalist M.S. Their music pairs black-metal intensity with long melodic passages and post-metal atmosphere. The band is known for albums including Aokigahara, III: Trauma, Arson and Mære, as well as songs such as “Fire, Walk with Me” and “Sing for the Damage We’ve Done.” Harakiri for the Sky performed at Roadburn Festival in 2016 and later mounted the Mære European Tour. Although the records are created by the core duo, concerts use an expanded band built around J.J.’s vocals and M.S.’s guitar work. Their festival history also includes Hellfest and Brutal Assault.
