Vogelfrey are a German folk-metal and medieval-rock band formed in Hamburg in 2004. Their catalog includes the albums Wiegenfest, Zwölf Schritte zum Strick and Sturm und Klang, combining heavy guitars with violin, cello and other folk instrumentation. Vogelfrey have played Wacken Open Air as a full band, carrying those arrangements onto a metal-festival stage. They have also performed at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.
