Hawklords in Newcastle upon Tyne

Hawklords are a British space-rock band that emerged from Hawkwind in 1978, playing psychedelic and progressive rock. The original incarnation made the album 25 Years On, which included “Psi Power” and “Free Fall”; a later version of the group added records including We Are One and Time. The 1978 tour supporting the album used a stage presentation designed by Barney Bubbles. A performance at Brunel University in Uxbridge was recorded and filmed, later appearing as Hawklords Live ’78. After re-forming in 2008, the band returned to British clubs and theatres, keeping material associated with Robert Calvert in its live repertoire.
