Heaven 17 in Newcastle upon Tyne

Heaven 17 are a British synth-pop group formed in Sheffield in 1980 by Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, with Glenn Gregory as lead singer. Their best-known records include “Temptation,” “(We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang,” “Come Live with Me” and “Let Me Go,” alongside the albums Penthouse and Pavement and The Luxury Gap. Heaven 17 began playing live in 1997 after spending their original 1980s run as a studio-based group. In 2008 they joined The Human League and ABC for the UK’s Steel City Tour, then performed their debut album in full on the Penthouse and Pavement 30th Anniversary Tour. In 2013 they returned to the full-album format for The Luxury Gap 30th Anniversary Tour.
