Helmut Schleich in Bad Kohlgrub

Helmut Schleich is a German cabaret performer and parodist, born in Schongau in 1967 and raised in Munich. He co-founded the cabaret group Fernrohr with Christian Springer and Andreas Rüttenauer in 1983, then began performing solo in 1998. His work is known for political impersonations, particularly Franz Josef Strauß, and for the television cabaret series SchleichFernsehen, which he hosted from 2011 to 2023. His honours include the Deutscher Kleinkunstpreis and the Bayerischer Kabarettpreis. In 2006, Helmut Schleich appeared at Aschermittwoch der Kabarettisten in the Philharmonie im Gasteig, returning to the event in 2007 and 2010. His solo programmes have also premiered at the Münchner Lach- und Schießgesellschaft and the Münchner Lustspielhaus.
