Artist
Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass is an American instrumental group created by trumpeter, composer and producer Herb Alpert. The project began with “The Lonely Bull” and became known for bright, brass-led pop and easy listening shaped by jazz and Latin rhythms. Its signature recordings include “A Taste of Honey,” “Spanish Flea” and “Tijuana Taxi,” as well as the albums Whipped Cream & Other Delights and Going Places. In 1965, demand for concert appearances led Alpert to turn the recording project into a touring band. The ensemble spent the following years playing concert halls and appearing in television productions, including the 1968 special The Beat of the Brass.
