About Horsegirl
Horsegirl is an American indie-rock trio formed in Chicago in 2019 by Nora Cheng, Penelope Lowenstein and Gigi Reece. Their guitar-driven noise pop and post-punk first reached a wider audience through songs including “Ballroom Dance Scene” and “Anti-glory,” followed by the albums Versions of Modern Performance and Phonetics On and On.
In 2022, Horsegirl toured clubs and theatres behind Versions of Modern Performance and opened selected North American dates for Pavement. The band followed that run with a 2023 performance at Glastonbury Festival.
Horsegirl performs as a three-piece rock band. Nora Cheng and Penelope Lowenstein trade guitar and vocal parts, while Gigi Reece plays drums.
