Humberto Gessinger in Teresina

Humberto Gessinger is a Brazilian singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, born in 1963, who founded Engenheiros do Hawaii in 1984. His guitar-led rock is associated with songs including “Infinita Highway,” “O Papa É Pop,” “Toda Forma de Poder” and “Pra Ser Sincero,” as well as the albums A Revolta dos Dândis and O Papa É Pop. Engenheiros do Hawaii performed at Rock in Rio II in 1991 and later turned MTV Acústico into a concert recording and tour. After the band went on hiatus, he toured with Duca Leindecker as the duo Pouca Vogal, then took his first solo album, Insular, on the road. Brazil is the center of his live work: he returns to his home city of Porto Alegre and also performs in São Paulo.
