Ian Prowse & Amsterdam is a British rock band led by Liverpool-based singer-songwriter Ian Prowse, who formed the group in 1999 after fronting Pele. Their best-known work includes the album The Journey and “Does This Train Stop on Merseyside?”, a song later recorded by Christy Moore. The Fireworks 30th Anniversary Tour in 2022 revisited the debut album by Pele alongside songs from Amsterdam and Prowse’s solo catalogue. The group performs as a full electric band, and its long-running annual Christmas concert has become a fixture at Liverpool’s O2 Academy.
