About Ian Shaw
Ian Shaw is a Welsh jazz singer and pianist, born in 1962, whose repertoire encompasses standards, contemporary songwriting and original material. His recordings include Drawn to All Things: The Songs of Joni Mitchell, The Theory of Joy and Shine Sister Shine, and he has twice received the BBC Jazz Award for Best Vocalist.
Ian Shaw has performed repeatedly at Ronnie Scott’s and PizzaExpress Jazz Club in London, presenting songs from his recordings in small-group settings and accompanying himself at the piano. His live work has also included duo programmes with Claire Martin, built around two voices and the jazz-song repertoire.
