Ibeyi in Villeurbanne

Ibeyi are a French-Cuban duo formed in Paris by twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé Díaz and Naomi Díaz. Their music draws on electronic soul, downtempo pop and Afro-Cuban and Yoruba traditions. The self-titled debut album introduced songs including “River” and “Stranger / Lover,” followed by the albums Ash and Spell 31. In 2015, Ibeyi performed at Glastonbury Festival while touring their debut album; the following year they appeared at Coachella. Those performances established a festival presence alongside their theatre and club concerts. Their concerts center on the sisters’ interlocking voices, keyboards, electronic elements and hand percussion. Lisa-Kaindé Díaz plays keyboards, while Naomi Díaz performs on cajón and batá drums.
