About Ida Nielsen
Ida Nielsen is a Danish bassist, vocalist and songwriter born in Aarhus in 1975. She is known for playing with Prince in the New Power Generation and 3rdeyegirl, as well as for bass-led funk records including Turnitup and More Sauce, Please!.
In 2010, Nielsen joined the New Power Generation and began performing internationally with Prince. She later became part of 3rdeyegirl and played on the Live Out Loud Tour in 2013, remaining in Prince’s live band through 2016. Her subsequent concerts placed her on bass and vocals at the head of Ida Nielsen & the Funkbots.
