Il Giardino Armonico in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz

Il Giardino Armonico is an Italian period-instrument ensemble founded in Milan in 1985 by Giovanni Antonini and Luca Pianca. The group specializes in music of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and is particularly associated with its recordings of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. Il Giardino Armonico has performed at the Salzburg Festival under Antonini’s direction, presenting Baroque repertoire on period instruments. Its international concert work has also taken the ensemble to Carnegie Hall in New York and the Sydney Opera House.
