About Ímar
Ímar are a British-Irish folk quintet formed in Glasgow in 2014. They play instrumental Celtic music rooted in Scottish, Irish and Manx traditions, and are known for the albums Afterlight, Avalanche and Awakening.
In 2018, Ímar performed at Cambridge Folk Festival, bringing their tightly arranged tunes to one of England’s principal folk events. The group have also appeared at Celtic Connections in Glasgow and the Orkney Folk Festival.
The concert format is a five-piece instrumental set featuring Tomás Callister on fiddle, Mohsen Amini on concertina, Ryan Murphy on pipes and flute, Adam Rhodes on bouzouki and Adam Brown on bodhrán.
