Glenn Miller Orchestra in El Paso

The Glenn Miller Orchestra is an American swing big band whose name and repertoire derive from the ensemble trombonist Glenn Miller formed in 1938. The band is known for recordings including “In the Mood,” “Moonlight Serenade,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000” and “Chattanooga Choo Choo.” In 1939, the original orchestra performed at Carnegie Hall and reached radio listeners through broadcasts from Glen Island Casino in New Rochelle. An estate-authorized touring orchestra began performing in 1956 under Ray McKinley and has since presented the Miller repertoire in theatres and concert halls under the Glenn Miller Orchestra name.
