Artist
Inga Rumpf is a German singer and songwriter, born in Hamburg in 1946, whose music draws on blues, rhythm and blues, soul and rock. She first became known through The City Preachers, then fronted Frumpy and Atlantis; key recordings include Frumpy’s “How the Gipsy Was Born” and the albums Frumpy 2 and Atlantis. Frumpy spent the early 1970s playing clubs and rock festivals across West Germany. After forming Atlantis in 1972, Inga Rumpf took the group to the United States, where it performed as a support act for Aerosmith and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
