Banjo Band Ivana Mladka in Trenčín

Banjo Band Ivana Mládka is a Czech group formed in Prague in 1970 by songwriter, banjo player and comedian Ivan Mládek. Its country, Dixieland jazz and skiffle repertoire is built around comic songs including “Jožin z bažin,” “Prachovské skály,” “Linda” and “Medvědi nevědí.” During the 1970s, the band performed around Czechoslovakia and became closely associated with Mládek’s television entertainment work. Its theatre and cultural-hall concerts combine ensemble playing, songs and spoken comic interludes led by Ivan Mládek.
