Ivy Queen is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter, born in Añasco in 1972. A key female voice in reggaeton since its early years, she is known for songs including “Quiero Bailar,” “Te He Querido, Te He Llorado” and “La Vida Es Así,” as well as the albums Diva and Sentimiento. In 1995, Ivy Queen joined the San Juan collective The Noise and performed as its only female member. Her later appearances have ranged across concert and festival stages, while her 2023 performance presented selections from her catalog in a live-band arrangement for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk.
