Jack Johnson in Bend

Jack Johnson is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and former professional surfer, born in Hawaii in 1975. His relaxed acoustic folk-rock became widely known through the album Brushfire Fairytales and songs including “Better Together,” “Banana Pancakes” and “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing.” He also wrote the soundtrack album Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George, which includes “Upside Down.” Jack Johnson launched the Kōkua Festival in Hawaii in 2004 as a benefit for environmental education and returned for subsequent editions. The To the Sea tour followed in 2010, taking his band through amphitheatres and arenas, while later album cycles produced the From Here to Now to You Tour and the All the Light Above It Too World Tour. He returned to theatres and outdoor venues for the Meet the Moonlight Tour.

G. Love is the stage name of American singer, guitarist and songwriter Garrett Dutton, who was born in Philadelphia in 1972. He fronts G. Love & Special Sauce, a group whose blues, hip-hop and funk approach was established on its self-titled debut album. “Cold Beverage” and “Baby’s Got Sauce” are among the songs most closely associated with the band. G. Love & Special Sauce joined the H.O.R.D.E. tour during the 1990s and built their live work around clubs, theatres and festivals. Years on the road were later documented in the film A Year and a Night with G. Love and Special Sauce, whose concert performance was filmed at the Electric Factory.
