Artist
Jackson Browne is an American singer-songwriter and rock musician, born in Heidelberg in 1948 and raised in Los Angeles. His best-known work includes the songs “Doctor My Eyes,” “The Pretender” and “Running on Empty,” the albums Late for the Sky and Running on Empty, and “Take It Easy,” which he co-wrote with Glenn Frey. In 1977, Jackson Browne recorded Running on Empty during a tour, using performances from the stage as well as recordings made backstage, in hotel rooms and on the tour bus. Two years later, he performed at the No Nukes concerts at Madison Square Garden. He joined Amnesty International’s Human Rights Now! tour in 1988, playing stadium concerts with Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel, Tracy Chapman and Youssou N’Dour.
