Jake Blount in Knoxville

Jake Blount is an American singer, banjo player, fiddler and scholar whose folk music foregrounds the Black and Indigenous roots of American string-band traditions. He is known for the album Spider Tales and the Afrofuturist concept record The New Faith, which reworks spirituals and traditional songs within a climate-change narrative. Jake Blount recorded an NPR Tiny Desk (home) concert featuring material from Spider Tales.
