James Taylor in Wilmington

James Taylor is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Boston in 1948, whose music draws on folk rock, soft rock and country. He became known through albums including Sweet Baby James and Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon, and songs such as “Fire and Rain,” “Carolina in My Mind” and “You’ve Got a Friend.” In 1970, James Taylor and Carole King performed together at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. They returned there in 2007 and later reunited for the 2010 Troubadour Reunion Tour, an arena tour built around their individual catalogues and shared musical history. He subsequently toured North America with Bonnie Raitt in 2017 and 2018. In Massachusetts, he has headlined Fenway Park in Boston and returned for summer concerts at Tanglewood in Lenox.
