Artist
Jazzrausch Bigband is a German ensemble founded in Munich in 2014 and led by trombonist Roman Sladek. It plays tightly arranged big-band jazz driven by techno rhythms, much of it composed by guitarist Leonhard Kuhn. Its recorded work includes the albums Dancing Wittgenstein, Beethoven’s Breakdown and Mahler’s Breakdown. The band established its live format through a residency at Munich techno club Harry Klein. It later brought its brass-heavy arrangements to Lincoln Center in New York and the JZ Festival in Shanghai. The ensemble has also performed at SXSW in Austin and the Safaricom International Jazz Festival in Nairobi.
