Jeff Tweedy in Great Barrington

Jeff Tweedy is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Belleville, Illinois, in 1967. He co-founded the alternative-country band Uncle Tupelo and later became the leader of Wilco, writing songs including “Jesus, Etc.” and “I Am Trying to Break Your Heart.” His work under his own name includes the albums Together at Last, Warm and Love Is the King. At Chicago’s Vic Theatre, Jeff Tweedy has held annual benefit concerts that often include audience requests. In 2014, he toured behind Sukierae with the group Tweedy, featuring his son Spencer Tweedy on drums; subsequent solo dates have placed his voice and acoustic guitar at the center of theatre shows. At Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, he has performed solo in addition to appearing with Wilco. He has also presented his own material at Newport Folk Festival.
