Jeremy Dutcher in Santa Fe

Jeremy Dutcher is a Canadian tenor, composer and pianist from the Wolastoqiyik community of Neqotkuk in New Brunswick. He writes piano-led art song in Wolastoqey and English. His 2018 debut album, Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa, incorporated Wolastoqey songs preserved on early wax-cylinder recordings and won the Polaris Music Prize. Motewolonuwok later made him the first artist to win the prize twice. In 2019, Jeremy Dutcher performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert at the piano with a small ensemble. He has also performed at Lincoln Center in New York and the Sydney Opera House, while his orchestral work has included a concert with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
