Jimmy Burns is an American singer, guitarist and songwriter born in Dublin, Mississippi. He plays electric blues rooted in Delta blues and soul, and after recording soul singles in the 1960s he returned to recording with the Delmark album Leaving Here Walking. His later records include Night Time Again and Back to the Delta.

Regular performances at The Smoke Daddy in the 1990s marked his return to sustained live work after years devoted to raising his family. Delmark founder Bob Koester heard him at the club and signed him, and Burns subsequently took his guitar-led band to events including the Chicago Blues Festival.
