About Lurrie Bell
Lurrie Bell is an American blues guitarist and singer, born in Chicago in 1958. The son of harmonica player Carey Bell, he became part of the city’s electric blues tradition through the Sons of Blues and built a solo catalogue that includes Mercurial Son and Blues in My Soul.
In 1977, Lurrie Bell joined Koko Taylor’s Blues Machine and toured as her guitarist before pursuing his solo career. He later performed with his father at Buddy Guy’s Legends and Rosa’s Lounge, and recordings from those shows were released as Gettin’ Up.
