Jimmy Webb in Phoenix

Jimmy Webb is an American songwriter, composer and singer, born in Elk City, Oklahoma, in 1946. He wrote “Wichita Lineman,” “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” and “Galveston,” all closely associated with Glen Campbell, as well as Richard Harris’s “MacArthur Park” and the 5th Dimension’s “Up, Up and Away.” His own recordings place those songs within a catalog spanning pop, country and orchestral songwriting. The 2007 concert album Live and at Large documented Jimmy Webb’s solo stage format, built around his voice and piano. His theatre and listening-room performances also include stories about the writing and recording of his songs, while the concert program The Glen Campbell Years focuses on the compositions that connected him with Glen Campbell.
