Joe Gransden in Newberry

Joe Gransden is an American jazz trumpeter, singer and bandleader born in New York City. He is known for interpreting swing, standards and the Great American Songbook in small-group and big-band settings; his recordings include “Close to My Heart” and “Songs of Sinatra & Friends.” Joe Gransden toured with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and the Glenn Miller Orchestra early in his career before establishing his own 16-piece big band. The ensemble developed a long-running club residency at Cafe 290 in Atlanta and has presented its songbook repertoire in the concert-hall setting of Spivey Hall in Morrow.
