John Barrowman in Hastings

John Barrowman is a British-American singer and actor, born in Glasgow in 1967. He is known for playing Captain Jack Harkness in Doctor Who and Torchwood, as well as for his work in West End and Broadway musicals. His recordings include the albums Another Side and Music Music Music, built around pop standards and songs from musical theatre. In 1989, he made his West End debut as Billy Crocker in Anything Goes at the Prince Edward Theatre. He later played Chris in Miss Saigon and Joe Gillis in Sunset Boulevard before taking the same repertoire into solo concert tours around the UK. His 2009 tour was documented in An Evening with John Barrowman, filmed at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
