John Cruz & Landon McNamara in Honolulu

John Cruz is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Oahu who plays acoustic Hawaiian folk. He is best known for “Island Style,” the title song of his debut album, Acoustic Soul, which also includes “Shine On”; his later albums include One of These Days. In the 1980s, John Cruz played clubs and coffeehouses in New York before returning to Hawaii. He later performed at Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, and appeared at the White House for President Barack Obama.
