John Garcia in Santiago

John Garcia is an American rock vocalist born in 1970 and raised in California’s Palm Desert. He is best known as the founding singer of Kyuss, whose desert-rock sound reached a wider audience through albums including Blues for the Red Sun and Welcome to Sky Valley, and songs such as “Green Machine” and “Gardenia.” His other bands have included Slo Burn, Unida, Hermano and Vista Chino, while his solo catalogue began with the album John Garcia. In 2010, his Garcia Plays Kyuss performance at Roadburn Festival reunited him onstage with former bandmates Brant Bjork and Nick Oliveri. That appearance was followed by touring as Kyuss Lives!, and he later returned to clubs and festivals under his own name, backed by the Band of Gold and performing material from his solo records and Kyuss.
