Johnny Hates Jazz in London

Johnny Hates Jazz are a British pop band formed in London in 1985 by Clark Datchler, Mike Nocito and Calvin Hayes. Their polished synth-pop and sophisti-pop became closely associated with “Shattered Dreams,” “I Don’t Want to Be a Hero” and “Turn Back the Clock,” the title track of their debut album. In April 1986, the original trio played its first live show at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Datchler and Nocito reunited in 2009 and returned the band’s catalogue to UK stages, later performing at Rewind Festival and the Let’s Rock festival series.
