About Jorge Pardo
Jorge Pardo is a Spanish flautist and saxophonist, born in Madrid in 1956, who plays flamenco jazz. He first recorded with the group Dolores and became known through his work with Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la Isla, including the latter’s album La leyenda del tiempo. His own catalogue includes Las cigarras son quizá sordas, Vientos Flamencos and Huellas.
During the 1980s and 1990s, he toured internationally as a member of Paco de Lucía’s sextet. Live... One Summer Night documented the ensemble in concert, and Pardo was also part of the lineup captured at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1987.
