Jowee Omicil in Loerrach

Jowee Omicil is a Canadian saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist, born in Montreal to Haitian parents. He plays modern jazz shaped by Haitian rhythms, gospel, funk and hip-hop, and is known for albums including Let's BasH!, Love Matters! and Spiritual Healing: Bwa Kayiman Freedom Suite, as well as his role in the musical drama The Eddy. In 2018, Jowee Omicil led a small ensemble at NPR Music’s Tiny Desk in Washington, D.C., moving between reed instruments and vocals during the performance. He later appeared among the musicians in The Eddy, whose club sequences were filmed as live performances in Paris.
