Joyce Moreno in Warsaw

Joyce Moreno is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1948. Her music draws on bossa nova, samba, jazz and MPB, and her best-known recordings include “Feminina,” “Clareana” and “Aldeia de Ogum,” as well as the albums Feminina and Natureza. Live at the Mojo Club documents her concert work in Hamburg, while her international appearances have also included Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London and the North Sea Jazz Festival. She performs as a vocalist and guitarist with a small ensemble, often joined on bass by her longtime musical partner Mauricio Maestro.
