Artist
Justin Hayward is an English singer, songwriter and guitarist, born in Swindon in 1946 and best known as a lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for the Moody Blues. He joined the group in 1966 and wrote songs including “Nights in White Satin,” “Tuesday Afternoon,” “Question” and “Your Wildest Dreams.” His solo work includes “Forever Autumn,” recorded for Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds. The Moody Blues played the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970, beginning a long concert history that later included orchestral performances. In 1992, Hayward appeared in the band’s concert at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, documented on A Night at Red Rocks. The group’s 2000 performance at the Royal Albert Hall was released as Hall of Fame. His solo concert format centers on his voice and guitar, and multiple tours have featured guitarist Mike Dawes and keyboardist and vocalist Julie Ragins. The sets bring his solo recordings together with songs he wrote and sang for the Moody Blues. Justin Hayward performed with the Moody Blues at Glastonbury in 2015, and he has also hosted and performed on the recurring On the Blue Cruise.
