Kaiser Chiefs in Halifax

Kaiser Chiefs are a British indie-rock band formed in Leeds in 2000 and fronted by singer Ricky Wilson. They became known through the album Employment and songs including “I Predict a Riot,” “Oh My God” and “Everyday I Love You Less and Less”; “Ruby,” from Yours Truly, Angry Mob, followed as another signature track. In 2005, Kaiser Chiefs performed at Live 8 in Philadelphia and at Glastonbury Festival following the release of Employment. Three years later, they played a homecoming headline concert at Elland Road. Their large-event appearances also include a performance of The Who’s “Pinball Wizard” at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

White Lies are a British rock trio formed in Ealing, London, in 2007 by Harry McVeigh, Charles Cave and Jack Lawrence-Brown. Their post-punk and synth-rock sound became known through the debut album To Lose My Life… and songs including “Death,” “Farewell to the Fairground” and “Bigger Than Us”; later records include Ritual and Big TV. In 2009, White Lies performed at Glastonbury Festival and Reading and Leeds while touring their debut album. The touring cycle for Ritual then took the band into larger rooms, including a headline show at Wembley Arena in 2011.
