Kaleta & Super Yamba Band is an American Afrobeat and funk group based in Brooklyn and led by Beninese guitarist and singer Kaleta. He previously played with Fela Kuti’s Egypt 80 and Lauryn Hill, and the band introduced its own hard-driving sound on the album Mèdaho. At globalFEST in New York in 2019, the group performed as a full band led by Kaleta on guitar and vocals, supported by horns and percussion. Its concert history also includes appearances at Brooklyn Bowl and Lincoln Center.
