Kamelot is an American metal band formed in Tampa, Florida, in 1991 by guitarist Thomas Youngblood and drummer Richard Warner. Its symphonic power metal is represented by albums including Epica, The Black Halo and Ghost Opera, and by songs such as “Forever,” “Center of the Universe” and “March of Mephisto.” Roy Khan fronted the band during much of that period; Tommy Karevik became lead vocalist in 2012. In 2006, Kamelot filmed One Cold Winter’s Night at Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo, preserving a concert from the Roy Khan era. The band toured behind Silverthorn after Karevik joined, followed by the Haven World Tour. In 2018, the North American leg of The Shadow Tour included Delain and Battle Beast.
Visions of Atlantis are an Austrian symphonic metal band formed in 2000. Their music pairs heavy guitars and orchestral arrangements with male and female vocals, while nautical themes shape albums including Cast Away, Pirates and Pirates II – Armada; “Melancholy Angel” is among their best-known songs. In 2019, the band recorded A Symphonic Journey to Remember with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague at the Bang Your Head!!! festival. The Pirates era later produced the Pirates Over Europe tour and the 2023 Pirates Over North America headline run, taking the group through clubs and theatres as well as festival appearances at Wacken Open Air and 70000 Tons of Metal.
