Kastelruther Spatzen in Frankfurt am Main

Kastelruther Spatzen are an Italian folk group formed in 1975 in Kastelruth, South Tyrol. Led by singer Norbert Rier, they play Alpine folk music and schlager, and are known for songs including “Eine weiße Rose” and “Tränen passen nicht zu dir”; the latter won the Grand Prix der Volksmusik in 1990. Since 1984, the annual Kastelruther Spatzenfest has brought the band to its home village for a dedicated festival built around its music. Outside that event, Kastelruther Spatzen play theatres, concert halls and arenas on tours through Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
