Katie Noonan in Southbank

Katie Noonan is an Australian singer, songwriter and pianist who became known as a lead vocalist of the Brisbane band george, formed with her brother Tyrone Noonan. The band’s album Polyserena included “Special Ones” and “Breathe in Now”; her later work has encompassed pop, alternative rock, jazz and classical music through projects including Elixir and Katie Noonan and the Captains. The Songs of the Southern Skies concerts paired Katie Noonan with classical guitarist Karin Schaupp for interpretations of music from Australia and New Zealand. They reunited for the Latin American repertoire of Songs of the Latin Skies, and she later toured The Glad Tomorrow, a setting of Oodgeroo Noonuccal’s poetry created with the Australian String Quartet.
