Keimzeit in Cologne

Keimzeit is a German rock band formed in Lütte in 1980, initially under the name Jogger, and renamed Keimzeit in 1982. Led by singer and songwriter Norbert Leisegang, the group plays German-language rock shaped by pop, blues and folk. Its best-known songs include “Kling Klang” and “Irrenhaus,” while the albums Irrenhaus and Bunte Scherben established its catalogue after German reunification. Throughout the 1980s, Keimzeit performed in dance halls and cultural centres across East Germany, building its audience through regular concert work. The band later took its electric repertoire into clubs, theatres and open-air venues around Germany. A separate acoustic formation has also toured the songs in seated halls under the name Keimzeit Akustik Quintett.
