About Kelly Bell Band
Kelly Bell Band is an American group formed in Baltimore in 1995 and led by bassist and vocalist Kelly Bell. The band plays blues rock, funk and R&B, a style it calls “phat blues,” and its recorded work includes the albums Phat Blues Music and Ain’t Like It Used to Be.
The group first came together to back Bo Diddley for a performance in 1995. That engagement led to its own club and festival shows around Maryland, including performances at Artscape in Baltimore.
