Kelly Price is an American R&B, soul and gospel singer-songwriter, born in Queens, New York, in 1973. After working as a backing vocalist, she launched her solo recording career with the album Soul of a Woman, led by “Friend of Mine.” Her catalogue also includes Mirror Mirror, “You Should’ve Told Me,” “As We Lay” and the gospel album This Is Who I Am.

In the early 1990s, she performed as a backing vocalist for Mariah Carey before taking her own material to the stage. At Kelly Price & Friends Unplugged: For the Love of R&B in 2012, she sang “Jesus Loves Me” with Whitney Houston at Tru Hollywood in Los Angeles, Houston’s final public performance.
