Kelsey Lu is an American singer, songwriter and classically trained cellist born in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her music places cello, layered vocals and electronic production within experimental pop and alternative R&B. She is known for the EP Church and her debut album Blood, which includes “Due West” and “Poor Fake.” Before releasing her solo work, Kelsey Lu performed as a cellist with Solange, Kelela and Blood Orange. She recorded Church in a single take before an audience at the Church of Saint Luke and St. Matthew in Brooklyn. Following Blood, her festival appearances included Coachella in 2019.
