Kevin Johansen is an Argentine-American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1964. After playing with Instrucción Cívica and spending several years in New York, he established his solo catalogue through albums including The Nada, Sur o no Sur and City Zen. His songs draw on rock, folk, cumbia and Latin pop; “Desde que te perdí,” “Anoche soñé contigo” and “Guacamole” are among his best-known recordings. The live album Kevin Johansen + The Nada + Liniers: Vivo en Buenos Aires documented a theatre performance by Kevin Johansen and The Nada as cartoonist Liniers drew in real time and his images were projected behind the musicians. The collaboration later reached theatres well beyond Argentina, including performances in Madrid and Mexico City.
